I am learning celestial navigation and have been using Navigator on iPad to check my use of the sextant before working through calculations. I have been using an artificial horizon. Presumably the sun’s rays are refracted, since there is no refraction adjustment in the calculation is it assumed the direct image and reflected image are both refracted and therefore cancel out?
