Firefox: stick to version 3.6

It seems that Firefox 6 does not support HttpFox at this time.
(required to make it work with vrtool). So upgrading to FF6 is not advised.

Firefox 4 works but requires the tricky httpFox workaround.
(see post somewhere in this forum)

The best move is stick to FF 3.6

I use Firefox 6.0.2 without any problem.
The path is C:\Users\ (my name)\AppData\Local\Temp\
The boat data file setting is the default
The operating system is Windows Vista Home edition. VRTool version 1.97F

I'm Using Firefox 7.0. 3.6? When was that?
It's not available anymore from Firexox either.
Nice software. Had it up and runnig on several occasions.
But the setup is so frustrating and disappointing.
Or even impossible.

Hi armchair sailors,
Looks that Sparepresto ist is right --- even impossible --

It was a great fun to sail round the world joining VORG 2008/9 supported by VRTOOLs.
Quite easy at that time --just download the tool and we had fun – a lot fun

Since two days I tired to setup VR 1.97f unfortunately but with less success only…
• Wind forecast is working but doesn’t show the data required for VORG 2011/12
• running Firefox 8.x I didn’t find a solution to import data from the browser directly

to we have any “ rescue at the horizon”…..

thanks in advance

by the way
the folder ( C:\........\temp\ )can be located but with any content …..

fair winds

That was this year. Firefox is changing versions every two months.
Looks like marketing people are running the version releases :)

I agree. This interaction with 3rd party software is difficult
and subject break any time. I knew that. Sorry if failed to communicate users.
I suppose there are compelling reasons to update to recent FF versions.
But - right now - if you do that, you loose vrtool interface.
