Firefox 3.6

Postby pdeppisch » Tue Mar 02, 2010 7:00 pm

Hi,
Does Firefox 3.6 work with VRTool? I just bought a new machine and installed XP Pro and loaded all software including Firefox 3.6. Clipper Around the World runs fine on the new machine.
VRTool works but can't find the data in the cache.
I did a search for "plugtmp" on the new machine OS hard drive and there are no occurrences of "plutmp" and therefore VRTool won't work.
I did a similar search on the old machine after running Clipper Around the World and there are lots of occurrences of "plugtmp" and of course, on my old machine with Firefox 3.5, VRTool works.

Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Peter

It does work with FF 3.6. Files (in Vista) are inside
C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\AppData\Local\Temp\

Note that the plugtmp-xx folders are not always visible by default
in Windows Explorer. Sometimes Files or Folders are hidden.
To show it, you have to change Windows Explorer view settings
somewhere. But this is not necessary for vrtool to work :)

Remember to go to Boats tab and check
[x]Update friends too
(otherwise only your boat track is updated)

Hi Omar,
Thanks - found them - and yes need to turn on system folders for search. Much appreciated and VRTool now works.
And I am running XP Pro.
Cheers,

A trick to easily find the plugtmp folder : In the Windows Start menu, choose Run (shortcut Window key + R), then enter %temp% and launch it.
This should open a file browser directly on your temporary folder, whatever the config. ;)
ImageVR ToutoulZ ! . . . . . . . . . . (Tools and stuff for VR races and VRTool)

Hello all,
I recommend Notepad++ as an editor to open Plugin-ServiceCaller-3.php.

link : http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

Once opened, you are advised of any update made to the file with the possibility of reloading.
You never will have to close and reopen the file. :D
By the way, wou can retreive the waypoints coordinates at line 74 of the file.
Wou will need to convert then from decimal degrees to degrees, decimal minutes.
To do so, I recommend the Convers program, link : http://vtopo.free.fr/convers.htm

If it can help ... :P

Hello all,
Does anybody have problem with the Firefox cache?
I posted into the Virtual Regatta Forum how to get through.
Follow this link : http://www.virtualregatta.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=8507#p172348
My post is in French but clear enough with a screenshot.
If this can help.
