Does v1.8 import 'Friends' data from FireFox Cache?

As above really. My 1.7 version imports friends data but my v1.8 install does not (it just imports my boat position). Is this right or has something gone wrong on my install of v1.8?

check [x]update friends too in the Boats tab.
