Polar Studio 0.8

Postby omar » Sat Oct 10, 2009 7:31 pm

On the subject of polar charts, I developed a little program to work
with polar databases . Its called PolarStudio and can be downloaded from

http://www.tecepe.com.br/nav/vrtool/PolarStudio.zip

You can use it to draw polars for your real boat and use vrtool
to plan your real cruises. I included a set of polars for J/24

Oh yeah... And you can use it to import VR vpp files ;)
(use menu option >File>Import.. Select multiple files vpp_1_*.csv, but ignore vpp_1_256.csv)
Than use File> export to VRTool.

Polar lines can be edited with the mouse.
Remember to share polar files you have produced...

Hi,

Big thanks to Omar and others that made VRTools useable with VR and various Operating systems :D
..... and to those supplying add-ons - much appreciated! 8-)

Upgraded to v.1.61 and just had to add an S to /Local Setting(s)/ for it to work with Win XP SP3 without using the HTTP plugin in Firefox.

BTW: We have three "J/24´s" here in the local sailingclub (Southwest coast of Norway). The Polartool might come in very handy for the Skippers ;)

Keep up the good work!

Regards
Kiva56 from Norway

Re: VR Tool 1.61 - Bug..?

Postby FreeRunX5 » Tue Oct 20, 2009 9:53 pm

When I try to use the function 'Clear all marks', the program (VRTools) hangs and shows a 'Violation access msg' to an address.. '0800000' something or other.. /D

Here the same.
The solution is simple: delete them one by one.

You can also open the nav file in the notepad and delete the lines you don't need.
