The right forecast age in Track Designer Settings

Postby Asmith » Sat Feb 07, 2015 11:18 am

Hi, I am trying to prepare for the VORG start tomorrow. It starts at 0700 my local time (Amsterdam, 1 hour ahead of UTC). Its noon (1200) the day before the race. Thus the start is in 19 hours. If use ' a given date/time' option, set 0700 in the ' From date/time ' field, it gives a forecast ate of 1d 01h (25 hours), which is not correct. I see this also when I generate a route, it give a wind time 25 hours in the future where I am starting from, and not 19 hours. The only way I can get the right wind prediction time at my start location (1900) is to subtract 6 hours from the actual start time (which would then be 01:00 on 8 Feb.

I would like to be sure that the routing planning I am doing reflects the correct time and predicted best route. Can someone explain what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks.
Asmith

Sorry your post was not approved in time for the start...

For that (planning before the start) you should set
time to Start Time less current wind forecast Timestamp
+ one hour. This hour is because regatta winds right now
are shifting at 13h age. On daylight saving time
that changes, I suppose (not sure).
