I do not know all the details, but I understand that there has been a change in the format of the datafiles.
This means that the receiving software has to be modified/updated.

I am not sure but I think that both the interpretation of the data, and the retreival process is affected.

I have tried to import the gripfiles that ZyGrip uses, but that format can not be used.

Does anyone have any other suggestion were we can download a gribfile that we can import into VR?

kind regards,

I read the Zezo forum today and these announcements were published by NOAA a while ago.

Details:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/os/notification ... fs_cca.htm
and here http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/change ... rade.shtml

The format currently used by VRTool and VR had been discontinued. The main question is how will the VR game handle the winds in the future. Without VR Tool i feel like I was blind. It tried importing from zyGrib, however the winds imported are without timestamp and can not be used for routing. I will try today to import it directly from the game using Firefox cache.

Until then I will just follow the leaders. 120 TWA and let us see ...

The only solution for now:

Use the cache of the game
1. Launch the game in firefox
2. Under VRTool click "file" and "import from firefox"
3. You get to open a window.

In cache path you must have an address that points to the cache of the game:
C: \ Documents and Settings \ "Windows User" \ AppData \ Local \ Temp \
The address may be slightly different depending on your Windows version (I'm on Windows 7)

Check to the provider; "Virtual Regatta"
and "Include winds"

Then click on the button:
1.Search in cache
2.Import files.

The solution is valid only for Firefox.

Thank you to Omar, for a future updating NOAA Module and make it point to the new files used by the game.
For now it is completely out.

unfortunately the "old way" to import the winds works only once in a while .......... worked once yesterday, but never again since

but I found a way to get the winds from the VR-Datacenter ............. start game with firefox, start httpfox and then change the winds in the game from actual to forecast 12h. Copy the line with the winds from httpfox to an Excel-sheet - click on this in your Excel-sheet and the browser will open the wind-file from the VR-Datacenter ........... save this somewhere so you can find it easily .......... then import the winds into VRTools as it had to be done before with "file"- "import from Firefox" .......... when the window opens, you have to change the path for the Firefox-cache to where you have saved the file - scan Firefox-cache and import the file

............... a bit complicated, but at least you get winds ........... even if only with forecast up to 24h, but still better than nothing ......

And I really hope Omar will find a good solution - as until now he always has ............... thanks in advance Omar

I have no problem on my side ... version of HTTPFox?
I have the 29.0.1 firefox version with HTTPFox 0.8.10.
I think the higher versions HttpFox is the problem
