it works and one can even switch off Mozilla Firefox and use Chrome, since the site loads much quicker there.

Great work, I wish I could do that.

Thanks for the suggestion to be able to use Chrome. I'm using it and the winds from NOAA and they work fine and match the game.

Hello Omar,

Firstly allow me to thank you for all the effort you have put into the VRT program and enabling us to once again update our boat positions without having to rely on "back-doors" :)

I have installed the latest version in order to update my boat/s, and have noticed that the "update all" facility for updating the wind grids is no longer available. Unless I need new prescription glasses  and can't see it.

Could you (a) advise if it is still available (b) let us know if you will create a fix for this, as it was very useful especially when sailing close to two or more separate wind grids.
Further in order to use the weather routing tool one need to have multiple wind grids loaded, so this become time consuming to have to individually load each grid every WX

Thanks

the 'update all' BTN moved to the top toolbar (the little download button with 'NOAA' text)
But it also updates vrtoutoulz winds, if that's what you are using..

tschelli wrote:Hi Omar, thank you very much for your work. There are two kinds of GetUser calls - one when I logon (without auto=1 parameter) and one when I reload (this one has auto=1 parameter). I use the one without auto=1 - it has boatname and all other stuff and the track is automatically updated - it works just perfect! regards tschelli

That's all we need!
It works fine...great!

game plan for the day - version 2.08

Postby omar » Wed Nov 21, 2012 11:41 am

I added two new features to help planning course and sail changes for the day:

1) Course and sail changes now can be shown as texts in the marked track.
- To use this, go to track designer settings.
- In the new "show actions as texts" group, check both [x]sail changes and [x]course changes
- Design your route/track for the day
- Click [Mark Track] button (or Ctrl-T shortcut). The new track contains texts showing course and sail changes points.

2) You can also add those sail/course changes to a schedule.
- Select the designed route/track and click [Generate Schedule]
- This will create a set of alarms that will warn you when the sail/course change is due.
Use Ctrl-K to open the Schedule window. Click "silence all" to clear the alarm messages.

Another change is the possibility to show isochrones as lines, instead of just points.
Go to weather routing module. Check the settings tab for the new option.

I have to admit I am lost. I have loaded the program and the 2.08 vendee globe but I am unable to load anything. It seems that firefox isn't working. I have loaded the HTTFox (old version) as seen in the forum, but no chance.

I am also unable to load the Vendee Globe polars....

Is there a check list of thinks to do to use this program for the Vendee?

Thanks a lot

Vendée version 2.08 : speed problem

Postby pascal_voyage » Fri Nov 23, 2012 7:43 am

Hello,

I have a problem with boat speed since version 2.08.
Example : wind 169°, 8.1 nds
Boat direction 209°
wind angle 40°

Boat speed calculated by VRtool : 7.31 nds
Boat speed indicated by VR : 7.9 nds
Boat speed with Pacotool : 7.91 nds

I didn't change my polars I was using with version 2.07.
When I check these polares manually I get
for 40 ° :
wind 8 nds : speed 7.9
wind 9 nd : speed 8

Do you see any reaon for this problem ?
