Hi Omar,

Having problems since I upgraded to 1.97d version.

I have 2 boats each with their own 'friends' list which are set to auto refresh at the same time using Refresh Thing program. I then have VRT set to import after this and previously all positions for all boats has been imported (both lists).

Now I can only get position updates for one set of boats.

The import finds 21 files.

I run Windows XP.

As I track and report on all the boats for the SO Challenge event, it is essential that I have this data available on VRT.

Any ideas please??

Regards,

Gary aka Boozeroo and Boozeroo SO

Have re-installed version 1.94 and this works so its either 1.97d doesn't work the same or I have not got the setup correct for 1.97d.

OK, I fixed it.... turns out that routing tool was looking in the wrong default directory for the mono bitmap (location of *.nav files?), which I diverted from the installation directory (program files), because of permissions problems and the abillity to share across other systems (using dropbox). So when I copied the bitmap to that directory, all worked fine.

Are you sure you created a real monochrome bitmap ?
It's not because your image has only black and white pixels visible that it is monochromatic. It must also be saved as a monochrome bitmap with 1 bit per pixel (the meaning of pf1bit). According to your image editor program, the way to do this is surely different, with photoshop, look in the image / mode / bitmap from the menu, with ms paint, it's in image / attributes, choose black and white. If your image editor shows you a color palette, this can tell you that is has more than one bit per pixel.

I had some problems with 1-bit bitmaps created/edited
with Photoshop ( they would not load ).

Note that vrtool itself can create the mono bitmap,
using high res charts (like the ones from vrtoutoulz).
Click the 'Other' tabs, Monochrome bitmaps.
You have to specify the regatta rectangle.

Pietro

Most vrtool calculations require two datasets loaded:
winds and polars. The image you sent makes it clear
that winds are loaded, so the polar data is probably missing.

Go to the tab "Winds" and unfold the "Polars database" panel.
1. Choose a file (either a simple polars *.CSV or a multisail polars *.XML).

2. Important: click load.

3. In the "Selected" option, choose the active dataset.
(again either the CSV or XML)

To check if the polars are properly loaded, check the
polar chart icon in the Winds panel. Polar charts should
appear in the chart.

Image

Note that you must do that only once for each regatta.
The settings will be remembered next time you start vrtool.
