Postby Sparepresto » Wed Sep 15, 2010 11:24 am

Hello Sailors,

Any information available about the new Cap Istanbul race, starting 9/19 ?
= Maps
= Polars
= Program Updates
= Wind grids
= Whatever ?

I would like to be prepared before the race starts ...

Winds AND boats are imported.
The boats are located 2.5 milles East of Porquerolles waiting for the start.

Hi
There is nothing new since the 1.94 version.
Polars, maps, game's cartography shots and more are available onto Ricoo's web site. Thanks to him.

Grid size is 2.5 for this race too.

Maybe You made a mistake into the importing module configuration.

In French, it looks like :

At the first line, you are to change "gueridon" by your Windows login name.
The boat dada file is plugin-ServiceCaller3.php. Putting a "?" will make it work even if MP chages the file name.

My guess is that this is because VRTool has a little bug : it refuses to import boats with null speed (grounded or just stopped), null true-wind-angle nor null wind speed.
When the race is started everything should be all right.

I have another present for VRTool users...
Donwload and uncompress the following file :

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?a0zwcde4k20i85m (link edited)

Beware, it is based upon the latests race information, but they can be changed by the race organisors for any reason.
This archive contains 1 VRTool desktop file, 2 maps (low and medium resolution), 4 polar files (pro/standard, classical/full) and every necessary MP coastlines.
The desktop is configured with the low definition map. To change it, don't use VRTool menu, you'd lose the coastlines, better edit the file with Windows notepad or so, (Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, Notepad) and change the line
O;Chart;b_gshhs_l.cht; 38.10170; -17.45310; 23.84141
by
O;Chart;c_gshhs_i.cht; 38.10170; -17.45310; 23.84141

Eventually, you will also have to indicate the full file path,
eg : O;Chart;C:\My Data\Documents\VRTool\CapIstanbul\c_gshhs_i.cht; 38.10170; -17.45310; 23.84141

Choose the polar file that suits you the best.

And have a good race.

Sorry guys, my .nav file was wrong for leg 3, the Levitha island is to leave on port while I placed it on starboard.
The above download link now leads to the corrected file.

Nice, a thousand thanks !
I found out the link was to be taken into the previous post.
By the way, could you tell me why you put a 0.99 ratio for the boat speed ?
