Weather routing

Postby Billbo » Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:30 am

For the life of me I can't work out the weather Routing. It seem to be giving the best VMC to a given destination, this is great if you are only sailing 2 miles. But for a distance spread over a few days It sometimes tracks you almost into the wind at a speed of .1 knot and it does not seem to take into acount wind changes or the proximity of land. Can any enlighten me as to what I might be doing wrong

The WR module tries to find the track that is closer to the destination
at a given time (great circle distance). Isochrones will show the sets
of points that can be reached at that time. The isochrone label marks
the best point for the isochrone. Sometimes the best track for days
ahead passes thru low boatspeed areas (this is the fun of the game)

Proximity of land is not covered at this time.
This weather routing calculator does not see any land
Need to add that to the wishlist...
